About the logo
The logo is the image of a 4000 year old stone carving of the Indus Valley tribes. It depicts a proud bull, signifying the sacredness of life in India's enduring tradition of 'Ahimsa' or 'Non-violence'. Four thousand years ago during the Indus Valley civilization ,cattle were the basic unit of wealth and used as currency. Respect for animals went beyond their usefulness and the Hindus, Jains and Buddhists regarded all forms of life equally important, considering them incarnations of a single energy or life force. It is believed that when a creature dies this energy is reincarnated in another form and could be vitalised by the soul of an ancestor or friend. Hence to kill any form of life was forbidden. |
